Curb Magazine: Copy Editor (September–December 2015)

‣ Copy-edited and fact-checked 2,000-word articles and multimedia pieces for Curb, a student-produced magazine within the School of Journalism and Mass Communication that circulates to 10,000 Wisconsinites each year
‣ Proofed the entire magazine before sending it to print
‣ Maintained stylistic guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy

University Communications at the University of Wisconsin-Madison: Hometown News Coordinator (March–December 2015)

‣ Coordinated the Hometown News Program for University Communications, the hub of UW-Madison’s communication and promotion
‣ Responded to media inquiries
‣ Wrote and distributed press releases about student achievements and faculty research
‣ Authored feature stories for Inside UW, The Weekly and the UW-Madison homepage (www.wisc.edu)
‣ Wrote a press release on the validity of “gaydar” that was picked up by the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, Daily Mail, Science Daily, Bustle, and other outlets in September of 2015
‣ Wrote an article that was cited by NBC News in April of 2015

Wisconsin Union: Social Media Intern (May–August 2015)

‣ Planned and executed social media campaigns for the Wisconsin Union across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
‣ Monitored and responded to community feedback and questions concerning dining experiences and the Memorial Union Reinvestment
‣ Increased the Union’s Instagram following by 52 percent in three months
‣ Posted the page’s top four most-liked photos and seven of the top ten most-liked photos of all time

University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering: Professor’s Assistant (January 2013–May 2015)

‣ Assisted Dr. Awad Hanna, the Chair of the Construction Engineering and Management Program, with all of his written communication
‣ Edited research papers, grant proposals and books
‣ Created databases and PowerPoint presentations
‣ Assisted with a grant proposal that secured Dr. Hanna a research grant from the Construction Industry Institute in March of 2015

Wisconsin School of Business: Social Media and Public Relations Intern (May 2014–March 2015)

‣ Generated original content for both traditional and social media for the Integrated Marketing Communications department of the Wisconsin School of Business
‣ Wrote short- and long-form stories
‣ Posted and edited content using Sitecore
‣ Promoted WSB content across social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more
‣ Edited content from other areas in IMC
‣ Tracked macro- and micro-level social and traditional media analytics
‣ Authored three of the top five most-viewed stories on the Wisconsin School of Business website in 2014

The Daily Cardinal: Men’s Hockey Beat Writer (November 2013–March 2015)

‣ Covered the Wisconsin men’s hockey program for The Daily Cardinal
‣ Provided coverage from the Big Ten Tournament in St. Paul and the NCAA Tournament Regionals in Cincinnati
‣ Conducted player interviews and attended home games at the Kohl Center
‣ Interviewed John Buccigross of #cawlidgehawkey fame in December of 2014
